Moving forward

So it seems that this whole process of running a business while going to school full-time is not exactly simple. It's so easy to get lost in the dreams and not remember how difficult the path to reaching them might be. A wise person once said, "The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary." They couldn't be more right.

So as you're following me on this long and arduous journey towards success, there are a few things we're going to be focusing on along the way.
  1. goal-setting
  2. time-management
  3. renewal
Over the years, it has been said over and over how important it is to set goals. Not only is it important to set goals, but what is even more crucial is that there needs to be a clear path to achieving those goals.

In a few days, I'll discuss goal-setting in more detail. For now, just take the time to write down some things you would like to accomplish within the next year, your short-term goals. If you refer back to my previous blog about "new beginnings," you can get an idea on what short-term goals are (e.g., resolutions).

The second thing I want to focus on is time-management. As a full-time student, time management is one of the most critical skills that I have learned. In many ways, I'm still learning how to do it efficiently. With familial responsibilities, work, and school, for many there is barely enough time to eat let alone worry about running a business from home.

How does one find the time to start a business? Although challenging, it is not impossible. The great thing about working from home is you can do it at your own leisure. Right now, it's 12:35 A.M. I should be sleeping, but alas...I'm on here, talking to you.

The last thing I mentioned above is renewal. The worst thing you can do is
crash and burn. I've been there and done that. I have the scars to prove it. As easy it may be to try to do it all, never forget that your body, mind, and soul need rest and renewal in order to function at their best. Therefore, take the time to do that. Whether it be an hour each day or just one day out of the week, don't forget to rest, rejuvenate, and renew.

So my fellow readers, don't get lost in the rat race. Times are changing. You have to keep up. Just remember this: Do what you love and do it with intention and purpose.

Until next time... ~Krezi
